Teacher’s Day

While we celebrated Teacher’s Day yesterday paying due respect to our past & present teachers, very few of us remembered the biggest teacher of our current times, The Corona Virus.

Covid 19 and the ensuing pandemic has resulted in widespread hardship and economic downturn for majority of us apart from the threat to our health & safety. However the virus has taught us important life lessons like never before.

· With everyone forced to stay at home due to the lockdown, COVID 19 has helped us reconnect with our family members, spend quality time with our kids and partners & share household chores as a team . It has helped in family bonding and provided an opportunity for a healthy personal life.

· Staying at home has helped us take a pause & introspect — our priorities and purpose in life. For many of us running the rat race with very little time to ourselves, the lockdown has provided the ideal platform to look back on our diversions from life’s objectives and take corrective steps going forward. It has helped us connect to our inner selves and rediscover ourselves.

· The pandemic has helped breach the social divide so deeply ingrained in our society. It has triggered the feeling of empathy amongst many of us and people from all walks of life across the social spectrum have come forward to help the vulnerable people with basic requirements like food medicines etc. People have willingly donated time ,money & their services to reach out to the under served people and help them fight the hunger war. It has helped us recognize & respect the contribution of our support staff like maids, watchman et all whom we often had taken from granted.

Thus we see the Corona Virus has liberated us in our thoughts, helped us realize our diversions and take corrective actions, it has made us more enlightened and better human beings , it has united all of humanity in a fight against a common enemy. The virus has truly been a great teacher to all of us helping us have a relook to our life journey. Happy Teachers Day.
